Useful documents for Arctic Baron

Here are some useful documents in order to play Transarctica, and successfully manage your train, reach all scenario steps and beat the Viking Union!

• the full world map - Transarctica (JPG)
• the full world map, recreated in high quality (JPG) - thanks to Zoltán Takács for this map
• the same with full details (JPG), including all ways rebuilt, all cities named, all scenario elements visible - thanks to Zoltán Takács for this map
• the cities list:
  • who does what + localization (PDF)
  • where can I buy that (PDF)
  • who does what + localization + where can I buy that (XLS) (1)
• a file needed to calculate the missile launch on ennemy trains (2)
• the values of the sav file, so you can modify your game as you wish with any hex editor - thanks to Zoltán Takác for this file.

(1) Example: if you want to get money quickly, buy massively fishing ropes in Istanbul and sell them in Athens. There are many "financial circuits", easy to use this way. But warning, remember that the goal of the game is NOT to become rich!

(2) Example: the most difficult is to read the spy messages fast enough, before the red train is too far away... As soon as you get a message with an ennemy train localization, hold on pause, calculate and then shoot! It is always a real pleasure to destroy a train this way! File and explanations are given for free by Micka. Important : missiles can not destroy the Minotaurus, nor destroy anything else than standard trains of the Viking Union. The angle given by the file is inverted E/W.

I also found on the web, mostly in French, and with the benevolent help of other Internet users, who prefer to stay anonymous in order to let me stay your idol*:

• A rewrited Game Manual in English, including the requested words in certain towns
• The back of the box of the PC version (at least, my own) : bug file (14MB)

I must also say that you can find on the web a list of towns and informations, written in 2002 by Miikka Ryökäs and Kizor Nerdbringer. Unfortunately, despite this list is precise and detailed, it contains a few errors, so use it carefully.
